So who’s ready for fall? You know it’s my favorite time of the year. The air has just enough chill but not too much. The leaves are turning colors and it’s just right for a light sweater. It is also reminds me of my mom because my birthday is in October.
My mom was an unbelievable woman. I was the sick child. The allergy child. I would get sick every spring and every fall. I remember my mom having to buy me a special pillow and a vacuum cleaner because of my allergies. Taking me to all kinds of doctors and buying all kinds of allergy medicine. Now I still have allergies and so do my kids. I get to be the phenomenal mom to them (lol)
For food allergies you can just avoid them or you can work with your allergy specialist to desensitize you to them. Regardless keep that EpiPen close when you go out. And remember use of an Epipen means a trip to the emergency room, step 1 and step 2.
For seasonal allergies:
Clothing
–a) leave outside clothes, and shoes by the door. You don’t want to bring them into your inner living space
–b) change your clothes and wash separately from your inside and under clothes
–c)On really bad days when you see the pollen on your car and sidewalk take a shower and wash your hair. Don’t forget to rinse your nostrils.
Change filters
The filters on your HVAC system should be changed regularly during allergy season to minimize the amount of dust, pollen and other allergens that get into your house.
The Arsenal
Dr. Muhammad’s Aromatherapy Allergy Formula–This is a formula I developed in the early 90’s for my children to help alleviate allergy symptoms. Symptoms like sneezing, runny and stuffy nose, Itchy eyes, sinuses and throat and ear canals, ear congestion and postnasal drip. It is applied to the skin at the reflexology points and to the affected areas except any internal areas. It is excellent in the bathtub very relaxing and soothing. It is also for ADULTS.
Colloidal Silver– I use Silver Max. Colloidal silver has been used long before the medical association was formed in this country. It is useful as an immune booster and long term and short term support.
Elderberry–also an immune booster and calms inflammation. It comes in capsule and liquid extract and syrup
Turmeric—alleviates sneezing and congestion, and improves nasal airflow. I buy brands with black pepper to increase the absorption of the turmeric.
Of course there are several other herbs that are used but these are my favorites. Let us know if you have some favorites for your family. If you want to purchase the Silver Max send us an email or leave us a comment.
